Artificial Intelligence Institute
The M-DCPS AI Institute is a cohort based professional learning experience designed to help educators build practical AI skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence. Participants explore district approved tools, ethical and responsible use, and practical applications for professional practice.

Cohort Based
Learn alongside a community of M-DCPS educators who are building their understanding of artificial intelligence together.
20 to 45 Minute Micro-sessions
Engage in short, focused learning experiences that make it easier to explore specific AI concepts and tools.
Mandatory Onboarding
Start with a required orientation that introduces the Institute, its structure, available tools, and expectations.
Symposium
Conclude the experience by connecting with colleagues and celebrating participant learning at the annual Symposium.
Micro-credential
Eligible M-DCPS employees can earn the AI Practitioner micro-credential after successfully completing program requirements.

Develop practical knowledge in four areas that support thoughtful, confident, and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Understanding Artificial Intelligence
Develop a practical understanding of artificial intelligence, large language models, generative AI, and how these technologies are changing the way we work and learn.
AI Tools for Professional Practice
Explore district approved tools such as Gemini, NotebookLM, and Gems for planning, productivity, creativity, organization, and problem solving.
Ethical and Responsible Use
Examine privacy, bias, student agency, academic integrity, and other considerations that support thoughtful and responsible AI use.
Putting AI Into Practice
Apply new ideas in authentic professional settings, experiment with new approaches, and build confidence through practical experience.
